Welcome to the Propeller Club of the United States - Port of Narragansett Bay.
Our club is part of the International Propeller Club which includes 52 clubs in the U.S. and 33 clubs overseas. The Narragansett Bay chapter covers the geographic area from Cape Cod Massachusetts to the Rhode Island Connecticut boarder.
The objectives of the club are to promote and support an American Merchant Marine and Maritime Industry. This is done by aiding worthy and economically justifiable inland waterway and harbor improvements, collaborating with organizations whose members promote the best interests of the American Merchant Marine and maritime industries and participating in the maintenance of public relations, education and good will among exporters and importers and the public in general.
The local chapter is made up of members from many related maritime industries such as marine pilots, barge and towboat operators, shipyard and terminal operators, shipping agents, marine surveyors, admiralty lawyers, marine environment specialists, maritime professors and merchant mariners. The club meets monthly, September through June and sponsors an annual golf tournament who's proceeds go toward an annual scholarship program. The monthly meetings are both social and educational, combining a social hour, dinner and maritime industry presentation.
Congratulations to our 2014 Golf winners.
